The Emotion Comet Kayak provides a large and easy to enter cockpit, and features a fully adjustable seat and footbraces to accommodate paddlers of virtually all sizes. A flared bow offers ample leg room and delivers a dry and comfortable ride in many different water conditions.

If you happen to be more of the adventurous type, you will probably like the quick acceleration and predictable lean turns from the Comet. Handy deck bungees to store gear along with the Emotion signature molded “paddle ledges” enable your hands the freedom to relax, takes photos, or really do anything for that matter.

Water can easily drain from the stern-placed drain plug, making it straightforward and easy to empty.

Although there weren’t as many reviews as we would like to have found, basically everything that was said was all positive. It is small enough that one reviewer after buying two of them, and then later a third, was able to fit all three on the roof of her vehicle with a kayak stacker. Others who had large enough vehicles simply loaded it inside to avoid dealing with a roof rack.

It was stated that the Emotion Comet doesn’t track as well as the Emotion Glide, but it turns very easily as well as being highly stable. The seat was also said to be very comfortable. Due to the length of the kayak, it isn’t very fast, but numerous remarks have been made about how stable this kayak is when handling waves or leaning over.

It was also pointed out that the Emotion Comet Kayak won the 2010 Outside Gear of the Year award, meaning many of the local sporting good stores in certain areas were struggling to keep it in-stock and on the shelves due to the fact that it was selling so quickly. It seems to be a great quality kayak with a price tag that is more than fair.

Others have stated it to be very comfortable, and again, highly stable as well as being able to maneuver quite nicely. And many really enjoy the conveniently small size that enables easy mobility.

The only two drawbacks that we could find were a comment in regards to the edges on the cockpit being a little sharp if you’re carrying it around by yourself, and the fact that the tracking is a bit lacking for some people.

With a nearly overwhelming positive view of this kayak, I don’t think I need to say too much. The reviews should speak for themselves. It has been a very popular single person kayak that virtually everyone has been more than happy with.
