The world record largemouth bass was caught in a makeshift wooden boat in otherwise inaccessible water. It makes sense. Finding trophy fish in a secluded bay should be easier than doing the same in a heavily pressured lake or impoundment. This is just one of many reasons why kayaks are one of the most effective and versatile platforms for catching bass and this book helps you choose, outfit and use the kayak to catch more fish. But this isn`t just about fishing from kayaks. This book is about improving your overall largemouth, smallmouth and striped bass fishing experience. Anglers of every skill level will benefit from the secrets and strategies that obsessed bass angler Chad Hoover has learned from years of catching trophy bass. The insight he`s gained by using his kayak to remain undetected and observe bass reacting naturally to different lure presentations, is invaluable and guaranteed to improve your effectiveness on the water. Whether you`re an experienced angler, new to kayak fishing, or simply looking for some valuable new insight about catching bass, Kayak Bass Fishing is an absolute must-read book that will help you catch `em where others can`t!

Head on Down to Phuket in Southern Thailand for some Fun under the Sun, Tropical Island Style

So, you’re coming to Thailand! That must be exciting for you. And must we say: good choice. You’ll get your daily mix of culture, heritage, modernity, people, food, mountains and beaches. That’s right, beaches! And not just any beaches…islands. Thailand is known to have some of the world’s best. And you cannot beat the country’s largest, Phuket. Head on down for some fun in the sun and bask in an island known for blue oceans, sandy beaches, fine resorts and yes, some culture too.

Phuket (pronounced ‘poo-get’) is an island in Southern Thailand on the Andaman Sea and approximately 862 kilometers from Bangkok. Funny we mentioned Bangkok. You can actually drive there uninterrupted. The island is connected to the mainland (the southern tip of Phang Nga Province) by a bridge. There is also an international airport there, so flying is also an option. Up to you.

Aside from the beaches, Phuket is actually pretty hilly. That’s right, about 70 percent of the island is covered in forested hills and mountains. If you head north, you’ll come across Khao Phra Thaeo Reserve. This is 20 square kilometers of protected rainforest where two of the island’s highest peaks are at. And while you’re up there, why not learn about the marine side of the island at Sirinat National Park, where colorful fish and corals make a living. Here is also where sea turtles lay their eggs from November to February.

Alright, let’s get to the beach! Phuket has her fair share of seaside types. There are quiet ones, commercial ones, rocky ones, muddy ones, smooth ones, some with caves (great for kayaking), pretty much any kind of beach you can think of really. And to add to that, there are also cool islands off the coast of Phuket in different directions, some of which are home to awesome snorkeling and diving spots as well as a laid back sleepy fishing village life. You can also find these elements on Phuket Island itself too.

Yearning for a trip amongst the fine Andaman Sea waters? Hold your horses! Perhaps you should explore the rest of the country first. And the best way to do it is with our Essential Thailand tour. Or perhaps you want to browse through our Thailand tours for more holidaying options in the country?
