Teamwork in Halong Bay Vietnam
I saw some terrific examples of teamwork throughout the three-day kayaking cruise my husband and I took on Halong Bay just off the coast of northern Vietnam. A crew of 9 greeted us as we boarded the newly painted junk that would act as a household base for our kayaking adventure. We stored waiting for a lot more passengers to arrive but as the boat pulled out onto the bay we realized all nine men and women were on board just to serve us.

A person girl was our chef. She took stay chickens out of crates in the hold, killed them, plucked their feathers and prepared them for our dinner. She grabbed swimming fish from the tanks on board, bludgeoned them to death, filleted them and grilled them to perfection. We had delightful rice and tons of veggies with each and every meal. Our dessert was superbly organized exotic fruit. Cooking 3 meals a day for passengers and crew was a total time work for her.
