Looking For Kayaks In Toms River, NJ?

NJ offers a variety of options for those who enjoy kayaking. With so many water bodies about, you can kayak in a lake or the Delaware River, and if you are adventurous and experienced, head out to the bay or sea. For those looking for a long stretch of kayaking, Toms River is a great choice. It offers the second longest run in the heart of pine country, with challenges galore for both beginners and experienced kayakers. People can take their kayaks right into the town of Toms Rivers, enjoying the pretty deciduous forests on both sides of the river.

For beginners to kayaking, flatwater kayaking is a good option. It does not need very specific types of kayaks, since it takes place only in calm water. So, you can relax and enjoy paddling in the calm stretch of Toms River.

If you are out to enjoy some quiet time with your family on the river and have a bit of experience in kayaking, your best bet would be a multi-person touring kayak. These boats are equipped with features such as hatches, deck rigging, and bulkheads, and are designed for maximum efficiency in the water. These kayaks have enough room to seat your family comfortably as you go touring. On the other hand, if you want to travel solo, opt for a one-person kayak. And, if you are feeling romantic, you can opt for a recreational kayak for two. These allow you to have extra buoyancy to prevent them from tipping over.

Whitewater rafting is an exciting option for more experienced kayakers, offering the thrill of navigating rapids. If you want to try rafting in Toms River, you need one of the sturdier kayaks that can hold its own in rough water. Opt for one of the specially designed whitewater rafting kayaks. Much shorter and wider than the regular kayaks for flatwater, these special boats are built to race downstream and take on rapids without overturning.

If you want to explore the many varieties of kayaks, Toms River has several shops where you can check these out. Whether you are new to kayaking or an experienced user, Bob Kislin’s Outdoors Sports of Toms River offers a wide variety of kayaks and paddles that will satisfy you. Their sales personnel will offer expert advice if you are not sure which kayak will suit your need.
