Kayaking can be a great family recreational activity that people of all ages can enjoy, including kids. Although children can learn to paddle in any type of kayak, I have found that inflatable kayaks are ideal.

Inflatable’s tend to be very stable and are known to be almost impossible to tip or sink. For this reason they are very safe for children to paddle in whether they are with an adult or paddling alone.

Besides being easy to paddle, stable and safe they are also very functional and convenient in that they can be deflated, stored in their storage bag and stored in a small space such as a closet. They can also easily be transported in the trunk of the car and many are even light enough for kids to carry.

Best Inflatable Kayaks for Kids

Although they can vary greatly in size and weight, there are a few models that are known to work really well for children such as:
